PROCEEDINGS. - The attorney general issued subpoenas duces tecum to Thompsons bank, accountants, and associates, subpoenas later held illegal in In re Criminal Investigation, 754 P.2d 633 (Utah 1988). The evidence thereby gathered was used to convict Thompson, and he appealed. The Court of Appeals affirmed at 751 P.2d 805 (Utah App. 1988), and the Supreme Court granted certiorari.
